Believe it or not - I'M DOING IT AGAIN! My entire experience - from start to finish line - with Team in Training was so overwhelming, that I couldn't wait to sign up again! And this time I'm back as a mentor to those who are new to the training and fundraising - just like I was last year.
The summer event I'm in training for is the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon, which will be held on June 3rd, 2007, and - again, I'm proud to play a small part in Team in Training's HUGE efforts...
Team in Training (TNT) is the largest fundraising arm of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (www.leukemia-lymphoma.org) - the world’s largest voluntary, non-profit health organization with 57 chapters that support research, patient financial aid, education, and community Services. TNT is dedicated entirely to finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and this marathon is only one of many events raising funds for this effort.
I’ve committed to raising $1,000 for the opportunity to participate in the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon, and I feel privileged to be a part of an organization that is focusing their fundraising efforts on such a worthwhile cause.
100% of any funds I raise over my goal will go directly towards research and patient services, as will more than 75% of my commitment amount of $1,000. PLUS, if you are a GlaxoSmithKline employee and contribute $25 or more, GSK will MATCH that amount, DOUBLING your contribution.
I would be grateful for ANY monetary donation, but if you are unable to contribute at this time, your prayers and encouragement would also be much appreciated. AND, since I'll be LOCAL to most of you... I'd LOVE to see you all at the finish line!
